The tanning process takes a full six months to complete and produces leather that is soft and supple, yet very durable. Shell cordovan upper material requires a lengthy finishing procedure to bring this marvelous upper leather to the beautiful patina achieved by years of know how at the Alden factory in handling this very special material.
