With zero drop, the Minimus Zero Cross-Trainer is a great introduction for athletes who have never tried the Minimus series before, featuring more cushioning and protection than other Minimus models but with the same low-profile feel. The Zero Cross-Trainer features REVlite RC and FantomFit, providing superior fit for dynamic training movements in the gym.

Just tried out the new New Balance Minimus MX00GY cross trainers. If I had to describe them in one word, that word would be lightfirmfortable. When you look at them even though they have a zero drop they appear to have a great deal of cushion, but they have a surprising amount of road feel. They feel firm and they stood up well in a workout of box jumps, wall balls, burpees, pullups and 400 meter repeats. (Pull ups? What does shoe performance mean during a pull up? On the way up you don't want to notice that it is there, and when you jump off the bar you want to know that it is.) They did not disappoint. New Balance road running heritage shines through in these shoes. They are a great running shoe unlike my Reebok Nanos that perform well in the gym but are like bricks on the road these felt right at home in both places. The zero drop almost forces form correction to a mid-foot strike, but unlike other minimal shoes they don't feel like barefoot trainers. They react nicely to terrain changes and give enough tactile response for this runner to feel the road but not every pebble. At about 8 ounces they are light and feel even lighter than that, it is hard to believe given their perceived firmness and foot feel. They strike almost a perfect balance between the right amount of structure, stiffness and flexibility They are they are comfortable, the shoes have not left my feet since I laced them up a few hours ago.. All in all, a pretty hot shoe.
