The Unique Style of Alden NST Shoes

Alden's famous Norwegian Split Toe design (also referred to as the Alden NST) has become a classic pattern that will give your favorite wing tips a run for their money. This pattern is slightly more formal than your signature Alden Gunboats. The antique edges certainly pop in contrast with the Color 8 shell cordovan uppers, keeping this pair from looking too stuffy. The color combination works especially well with your favorite denim. Whether you decide to dress them up or down, these shoes will definitely get noticed.

Alden Handsewn Split Toes

The toe stitching is meticulously handsewn by a select few of Alden's expert employees. The process is arduous enough that adding a Norweigan Split Toe to a shoe or boot can increase delivery times by quite a bit, so we are always excited when we get a new Bootmaker NST or Tanker Boot in! Our customers love this style, so these do sell out fairly quickly. We recommend picking up a pair as soon as you can.

The best way to determine your size in Alden shoes is to be fit in person by an authorized Alden dealer. At TheShoeMart, we have been fitting customers in Alden's different lasts for three generations--for over 60 years! We welcome you to be fit professionally for Alden shoes by our fit experts in our Norwalk, CT retail store. However, we also understand that not all of our customers can make it in for a visit. 

These Alden NST bluchers come on the Alden Barrie Last, which is a bit more accommodating than the Aberdeen Last used on the Alden Stock Program 2210 NST Tie shoe. The Alden Barrie Last runs long, and we recommend most of our customers go down 1/2 size from their typical dress shoe size. So if you wear a 9.5 D on most of your dress shoes, we recommend you order a 9 D on the Barrie Last.
