Alden D8512C Medallion Tip Blucher

A new Custom Bootmaker Edition for Fall 2018, this exquisite blucher comes in Snuff Suede. This particular shade of brown has become a strong favorite among fans of  Alden shoes. Known for it's tone-shifting properties, in some lighting, snuff appears to be a sandy tan, but it also has some rust tones that tend to get picked up in photographs. 

Snuff suede Alden shoes are just the right mid-toned brown color for your casual wear and pair well with the dark muted tones so often found in the New England gentleman's fall wardrobe. Snuff looks particularly impeccable when paired with dark denim, but it is versatile enough to work with your chinos and summer-wear as well.

Suede Shoes With Real Sole

This model features a 360 degree full Goodyear Storm Welt and a Smoke Commando outsole. These give the shoe a substantial look that mirrors the accommodating Barrie Last it was built upon. This lugged outsole offers plenty of comfort and a good amount of traction for wet fall weather. It also is low-profile enough that it doesn't look out of place in less casual settings.  We also really like the way fall leaves sound crunching under a Commando sole.  An antique edge creates additional depth with deep red tones that compliment the aforementioned rust tones in the suede.

The Medallion Tip Pattern

So what is a medallion tip, anyway? "Medallion" refers to the style of perforation or broguing found on the toe of a shoe. It often coincides with a cap toe, as it does with many of our Alden bluchers and oxfords, but it doesn't have to! 

The D8512C features a perforated cap toe as well as a perforations on the quarter panel, collar, and heel cup for an exquisite look. There is pinking along the visible edges, but there is no pinking or serration on the edge of the tongue (this is often used on Alden long wing bluchers like our popular 975 in Color 8).  This pattern strikes the right balance between casual decoration and elegant simplicity.
