Genuine GoodYear Welt Construction

J.C. Cole shoes are Goodyear Welted. The sturdiest available 360º leather storm welts are stitched to both the upper pattern and insole rib of the shoe. This is the strongest construction method known for shoes that provides all day comfort, support, and wear.

J.C. Cole Michail Last

Years in the making, the Michail Last is an exclusive lastmaker design created for our J.C. Cole shoes. After many wear testings and tweakings, we believe that this last has acquired the most comprehensive fitting qualities required for the active foot. Shoes on this last run True To Size, so we recommend that you order your typical dress shoe size.

Patterns

Each upper pattern has undergone the highest scrutiny for quality and balance. J.C. Cole shoes are hand rubbed and burnished, and each pair has been matched for consistency in appearance and wear. The distinctive handsewn Northern Cross bar tacking adds strength at points of stress.

JC Cole Dundee

The J.C. Cole Dundee is J.C. Cole's version of a bench-made dress blucher. It's plain-toe design makes it extremely versatile. The Dundee was inspired by the timeless English-Scottish brogues of both the Northampton, England and Galway, Scotland regions.

JC Cole Galway

The J.C. Cole Galway is a longwing dress blucher. Like the Dundee, the Galway is inspired by classic English-Scottish brogues. Special dies create both the meticulous pinking (saw toothed edges) and the crisp, clean diameters of the perfing (graduated pattern holes).

Premium select Italian calfskin leather. Hand-finished.

Linings

Smooth American cow leather lines the full shoe.

Insoles

Flexible, full-grain, veg-tanned, American leather insoles. These offer the highest consistency for "moulding" - when natural heat and moisture from the wearer's foot imprints an individual foundation within the insoles.

Midsoles

Precision milled leather midsoles are attached to the outsole to ensure a consistent, solid base.

Steel Shank

A hardened steel shank is placed with the footbed, encased in a layer of natural cork. This helps to provide consistent foot support, temperature regularion, and underfoot cushion.

Outsoles

Double oak bend leather outsoles are repairable and offer exceptional durability and stability. Great for city wear.

Heels

A repairable three-piece dovetail heel, commonly referred to as a McAfee heel, consists of stacked leather and a rubber insert for longer wear.
